This week we are working on Mariko and Chris' dessert bar and cake and we couldn't be more excited about it! This adorable couple was referred to me from a good friend of mine and were my first booking for the 2012 season; I feel like I have known them forever!
Settle in, grab yourself a cup of coffee and read about this sweet, sweet couple!
Tell
us the story of how you met…
We met on Saint Patrick’s Day through mutual friends. Since Mariko
was born in Ireland we feel even more blessed that the “luck” was with us on
St. Patrick’s Day J
Mariko-
Tell us your favorite thing about the Chris…
He’s the biggest guy I know but he’s got the biggest heart of anyone
I’ve ever met. I love the person that he is to his friends, family and to me.
Chris-
Tell us your favorite thing about the Mariko…
Mariko makes me want to be a better person. we think the sign of a
good relationship is if you make each other better people in your daily lives,
we do that for each other.
How
did you know he/she was ‘the one’?
We knew the moment we
met that were meant to be in each
other’s life significantly. There have been a million “moments” of realization
that we were meant for each other, those moments have lead us to July 21st
2012.
How
did you get engaged?
Chris proposed on the Winter
Solstice at Stonehenge in England. Mariko’s entire family was there and after
asking her father he dropped down on one knee in front of everyone.
What
are you most looking forward to in married life?
Growing
old together.
When
and where is your wedding?
July 21st, 2012
at St. Anthony’s chapel. The reception will be at the Meridian Valley Country
Club.
Do
you have a theme for your wedding?
Our wedding has a
vintage theme. Think old records, lace touches with soft pinks and gold.
What
is the style of your wedding cake?
How did you choose it? we just wanted a small cake we could cut for photos. We’re
doing a big dessert table with fruit push pops, cupcakes, cookies and other
amazing snacks
